Porsche Panamera Review

Its the era where innovation rises above the peaks of imagination, the era where power has no boundaries, the era of the worshipped German automaker Porsche. The company has gifted the world with some of the most desirable sports automobiles of this era and is out with its another iconic successor christened as Porsche Panamera. The gracious automobile is a luxury four-door sedan that is front-engined available in two-wheel drive and all wheel-drive configurations. The car was showcased at the 13th Auto Shanghai International Automobile Show on April 2009.

Engine, mileage and variants

The striking and sporty sedan is pumped-in life by the precisely-engineered 3605 cc 6-cylinder front-mounted engine that is integrated with advanced technologies like Direct Fuel Injection and VarioCam Plus System that gains in the advantage of an efficient combustion process even at high speeds and preciseness of engine response. The engine sprints hard to push its piston down dynamically and generate a maximum power output of 310 hp at 6200 rpm and a capable maximum torque of 400 Nm at 3750 rpm. This ultra-refined power mill mates a 7-speed dual clutch transmission Porsche Doppelkupplung PDK, which offers silky-smooth gear transitions and collectively with the engine projects the sedan dynamically with 100 km/hr of speed from stand-still in just 6.3 seconds and just 6 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package. Owing to the refined technologies encased to the engine, it displays a combined fuel consumption value of 8.4 litres/100km.

The exterior design of the car surely hints the typical Porsche styling that correctly resembles the sporty spirit of the sedan. The graciously curved air slicing bonnet design of the car that flaunts the 'V' shape concept is further accentuated by the LED headlights compatible with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and the wide air-intakes. The distinctively shaped sedan incorporates a sense of slippery aerodynamics in its side profile, which is made more functional with the side air intakes. The distinctively curved rear body of the car blends sportiness of an SUV with the grace of a sedan. The wide and elongated road hugging design of the sedan is crafted upon the dimensions reading – 5015 mm x 1931 mm x 1418 mm (L x W x H) and a long wheelbase of 2920 mm contributing towards stability.

The interiors of the car display a whole new definition of luxury and comfort wrapped in a sense of convenience. The cockpit of the car is precisely crafted to feature a pleasurable sense of authority owing to the features like the soul intuitive infotainment system with the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system integrated in the 7-inch display and the leather-wrapped multi-functional steering wheel. The occupants of the car are offered a great feast of luxury with the stress-melting large leather-covered independent seats with optional sports adaptive seats, the Burmester High-End Surround sound system and the Porsche rear seat entertainment system with two 10.1-inch touchscreens, DVD players and headphones. This luxury meets the concept of spaciousness with the capacious 445 litres of cargo space.

Safety, braking and miscellaneous

Porsche Panamera is equipped with an extensive list of dependable and advanced safety features ranging from braking safety served by the ventilated disc brakes with ABS (Antilock braking system) and EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution) to the PSM (Porsche Stability Management), which is an electronic system which provides assistance during extreme driving conditions. The vehicle also encloses automatic adjustable headlights, standard full size airbags for the driver and the passengers and the seatbelts.

The gracious Porsche successor owing to its pumped-up dynamism, refined handling traits, luxurious interiors and impeccable styling surely complements your identity.
