Bayerische Motoren Werke AG commonly known as BMW, currently owns the 100 years old legacy by the name Mini marque. The automobile giant came out with the third generation Mini Cooper with their first ever 5 door Hatchback in 2014. The new 5 Door Cooper ruled out the convention of the meaning of MINI. The 5 door Cooper shared the characteristics of the old F54 Clubman and was based on the similar BMW UKL1 (Lower Class) platform. Despite of its bigger size as in comparison with its less lauded 3 Door Cooper, it delivers the similar go-kart precision and performance. MINI Philippines unveiled the curtain from this German invention in 2015 at the Manila International Auto Show.
Engine, Mileage & Variants
MINI Philippines taking care of the rally enthusiasts propounded two trim levels of Mini 5 door hatchback, Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S. The former features a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder MINI Twin Power Turbo engine which burns to produce out 136 hp maximum power output between 4500 to 6000 rpm pushing 220 Nm of torque at 1250 rpm forward. Beauty is being congenial in its own skin and MINI affirms the preceded statement with its new 5 Door Cooper. The company messed up a little with the chassis to provide a longer wheelbase of 2501mm which gave the traditional silhouette a sleek spin with body dimensions 3982mm x 1727mm x 1425mm (L X W X H). The extra doors could not influence the appearance, although the matte silver with exterior paints having optional black or white fin roof gave it more bulky and sporty look. The headlights are the iconic elliptical chrome covered with optional halogen/full LED lamps. The red tails of the car are widened with rectangular chrome in prominent position for a mature look. Mini cooper has its old styled three blade radiator grille , whereas the Cooper S looks more jaunty with a red S engraved on matte finished honeycomb grille with large pot hole air inlets on lower grills. Both Cooper and Cooper S comes in sizable 15 inch heli spoke alloys.
Opening the doors and infiltrating the inner compound makes one realize that the car has really got big with 5 seater capacity and an improvised boot space of 278 litres. Mini 5 door comes with velour flooring and dark upholster sporty lumber seats for comfortable long rides. The judiciously placed adjustable steering gives the traditional Go-Kart feeling with all music controls placed conveniently. The aesthetically placed centre stack has chrome bind toggle switches with USB and Bluetooth connectivity to provide hands free calls. The red and blue LED lights with automatic climate control enhances the inner ambience of the all new Cooper 5 door. The central console trade marked as Mini Centre instrument is a wide touch screen dinner plate of 8.8 inches proffering a buffet of infotainment services on every turn.

The all new Mini Cooper 5 Door is incorporated with a plethora of technologically advanced safety features for the well being of passengers and delivering hassle free drives.
