The German car mogul Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW) came out shining in early 2000 with a compact car concept vehicle epithet as Mini Marquee. It was a newer segment of cars manufactured by company to augment its model range. The hatchback/hardtop Mini was the opening model of Mini, introduced by the company in variants One, Cooper, Cooper S and John Cooper Works (JCW). Later, it was succeeded by a newer facelift version in July 2004, also the new Mini convertible was introduced with it. Mini initially came out with its 3 door cars which were later escalated to 5-door versions with improvised space and features.
Engine, Mileage & Variants
It was the munificence of Mini Philippines which offered the new Mini in two trim levels, Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S. The former features a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder MINI Twin Power Turbo engine which churns out 136 bhp at 4500-6000 rpm pouring some 220 Nm at 1250 rpm on the axles. Whereas, Mini Cooper S is a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder MINI Twin Power Turbo engine whisking to proffer 192 bhp at 4700 - 6000 rpm producing 280 Nm torque at 1250 rpm. Mini Cooper S delivers better acceleration taking just 6.8 seconds to hit 100 kmph offering improved top speed of 235 kmph. Both the variants revive the roads with a fuel economy of 7.6 L/100km.
The cooper has an aesthetically yet ergonomically designed body with dimensions 3821mm x 1727mm x 1414mm (L x W x H) having roof fin with a judicious wheel base of 2495mm. The Cooper has a matt silver and black touch contrast with every available body colour with an optional black or white roof giving it a twin bodied appearance. The spoiler at the back represents the reminiscence of the old sporty rally car. The new Mini possess artistic halogen/full LED headlights encircled with chrome rings protruding a more shinier look and the rear lights with rectangular chrome giving out a more mature and opulent appearance. Mini Cooper has its symbolic radiator grille with three chrome blades , whereas the Cooper S features a bigger honey comb patterned matte grille with a fat capital S engraved, having lower air inlets to cool off the spurring engine. Both Cooper and Cooper S comes with standard 15 inch heli spoke alloys.

Overall, the Mini Cooper 3 door is a pristine car to take away for an urban drive. The car features impeccable safety feature with at par aesthetics and advanced entertainment attributes to make it complete value for money. Although, it lacks a bit on the comfort and does not provide considerable boot space being a MINI.
