Honda Motor Company is a Japanese automaker which was established in 1948. Its recent addition, Honda Jazz, a better version of its predecessor looks more like a sporty hatchback than a small MPV. Jazz is regarded as an all rounder in terms of interior, exterior, price tag and handling and one is regarded as one of the best hatchbacks among its competitors. The Japanese carmaker has upgraded the car with better features and the all new “H” badge which is similar to the one in recently launched Honda City. Just like its last two generations, the third generation Jazz surely looks promising.
Regarding the engine, Jazz holds a 1.5 liter SOHC 4 cylinders,16 valve i-VTEC engine. It appears to be carried over from the previous Jazz and the maximum power comes to 120 PS at 6600 rpm and the maximum torque comes to 145 Nm at 4800 rpm. Jazz can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 10.5 seconds and the top speed recorded is 180 km/hr. Honda has given a 7 speed CVT transmission to its Jazz which they already had in the first generation model and there is nothing new to it but it gives a more smooth acceleration and and good fuel economy numbers. In the city, Jazz delivers 15.5 kmpl mileage and on the highway it delivers 17.5 kmpl which is pretty appreciable.
The front profile of Jazz looks very futuristic and appealing and there is also a dramatic feature line on the side profile which goes through the front door, broadens at the rear door and connects with the LED taillights. The taillight and reflector goes all the way to the roof of the Jazz and its flashier headlights gives it a more sporty look. The length of the Jazz comes at 3955 mm, width at 1695 mm, and height at 1525 mm. The added length gives it a decent wheelbase which measures 2530 mm and thus results in a bigger cabin space. On the lower sides it has LED projector fog lamps with daytime running lights and the two tone alloy wheels with 175/65/R15 tires in 1.5 V MT & 1.5 V CVT and 185/55/R16 tires in 1.5 VX CVT and 1.5 VX+ CVT variant.
With the seating capacity of 5 persons, boot space of 359 liters and comfortable interiors of Jazz, every inch of the car has been made to savor. The push start button helps you to start your engine with a single push of button. It comes with a 7 inch touch screen display that controls many functions like blue-tooth, audio and vehicle settings with its large and easy to operate icons. For the driver and front passenger there is HDMI( VX + and VX only) and USB connectivity. The Jazz comes with a multi-purpose steering wheel control which makes it easy to take calls or operate music player and radio while you are driving.
Honda knows that safety is always first for you and your family, so it provides you with reliable safety features to keep you safe during a fun and thrilling ride. It comes with a rear parking camera, ABS ( anti lock braking system) and also emergency stop signal during a case of hard stopping or collision by flashing rapidly all the lights of the car. The other safety features include HSA ( hill start assist) and VSA (vehicle stability assist) which comes only in the VX + and VX variants. The side curtains and 6 airbags would protect you from any casualty during a collision.
Honda has been successful in producing a car which is a small hatchback hero. It has managed to come up with flying colors in the terms of design, sportiness, technology, fuel efficiency and space and has beaten most of its competitors by being the best all rounder. The only concern which remains is the price and some functions which are kept only for the higher variants.
