Haima S5 Review
After making its debut in the country, the all-new Haima S5 has attracted a wide range of auto enthusiasts towards its robust looks and power-packed engines. Its technological features, good looks and luxurious cabin are potent to cover the customers inclined towards EcoSport or Honda HR-V. Offered in two different engine capacities - 1.5-litre and 1.6-litre, it gives the option to the customers to choose as per their needs. The bigger engine, the 1.6-litre power mill, is allowed in the Elite and Noble trims while the 1.5-litre engine option is offered in three different trims namely - Elite, Deluxe and Noble. The smaller engine is coupled to a CVT gearbox along with a turbo technology, whereas, in the other case the bigger engine, the turbo remains absent and the engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission system. The cabin has also received few tweaks in terms of finishing and comfort, which is quite up to the mark this time around as compared to the previous models from the Chinese auto manufacturer. Practicality and clever storage spaces have been incorporated inside the cabin making the life easier for the passengers on a long route or journey. There a total of 30 storage spaces inside and it comes with 320 litres of luggage capacity. Safety features depend upon the model a customer opt for as they vary from one model to another. However, the highest trim of the crossover get advanced aspects like ABS with EBD, front dual airbags, driving assist rear vision camera, brake assistant system, collapsible steering column, reversing radar and more.
Mileage and Fuel economy
In addition to the head-turning looks, the Chinese automaker has granted it with an exceptional fuel economy giving an edge over others in the market. The 1.6-litre S5 holds the ability to run with a mileage of 13.70 kmpl while this value changes to 12.5 kmpl in the case of 1.5-litre S5 trim. Haima S5 is offered with two engine choices in Philippines - 1.5-litre turbocharged direct injection engine and 1.6-litre engine. The 1.6-litre engine comes with the ability to churn out a max power of 121 hp at 6000 rpm alongside a peak torque of 160 Nm at 4000 rpm.
Acceleration & Pick-Up
Though Haima S5 is not a racing car but it delivers decent acceleration and pick up numbers during the process. With a top speed of 165 Kmph with 1.6-litre and 170 kmph with the 1.5-litre engine and a multi-link suspension system fitted at the rear end, the crossover is good enough to provide optimum comfort and smooth feeling while acceleration and braking.
