Audi Q7 Review
Audi Q7, a full-size luxury crossover SUV was the first SUV offering from this German giant. It was initially unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show and is designed more for on-road use and not for a serious off road use. Thus, this four wheel drive car can be termed as a soft roader with the most elegant sporty look. The car with its plush interiors, adequate safety features, and powerful engine has the capability to directly compete with the likes of BMW X5, Volvo XC90, and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class.
Engine, mileage and variant
The Audi Q7 has two variants, namely, Audi Q7 3.0 TDI Quattro and Audi Q7 3.0 TDI Quattro S, both the variants are powered by a 2967 cc 3.0L engine which produces maximum power of 202 hp in the Quattro trim and 243 hp in Quattro S along with the same maximum torque of 500 Nm at 2000 rpm. The power is supplied to all wheels through 6-speed Dual Clutch gearbox. The Quattro S and Quattro records a top speed of 217 km/h and 205 km/h respectively. The combined fuel consumption for both variants here read as 7.4 L/100 km and 7.2 L/100 km respectively.
With all captivating looks and boxy appearance, the Audi Q7 has massive radiator grille with few chrome plates and prominent company insignia in front. The Xenon headlamps plus the body-colored bumper and wide air intake section in front gives it a bold front profile. The side profile has few expressive lines, body colored door handles, and flared up wheel arches with 18-inch alloys which give it a subtle appearance. Moreover, there is a sporty roof spoiler with LED high mounted third brake light and curvy boot lid makes it look a stylish SUV. The dimensions of the same read as 5089 mm long, 1983 mm wide, and 1737 mm tall with the wheelbase of 3002 mm.
The interiors are spacious and eternal with dual tone color scheme along with treatment of wood and chrome finishes. The premium leather upholstery seats are not only electrically adjustable but also brings memory function with them. The boot space is large and can also be increased further with rear seats folding option. The cockpit is driver-oriented where all systems are practically laid out. The control mounted steering wheel, illuminated glove box, automatic air control, cruise control function, power windows, and complete audio system are the basic luxuries in this car. The ambient lighting inside along with small places to store your tits bits make this car way more practical.
On the safety front, this German brand has never compromised and therefore, its Q7 is equipped with dual front, knee, curtain, and side airbags along with seat restrainers which really gives full protection at the time of bang. The immobilizer, security alarm, and child proof safety locks are other important safety features present in the car. Further, the braking and handling of the car is quite efficient with anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution, hydraulic brake assist, and electronic stabilization program. Some other basic safety feature includes anti-theft alarm system, parking system plus and reverse camera.
