Lexus NX unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show 2017

MANILA: In order to raise the standard of its sporty and luxury crossover, Lexus has introduced the updated NX at the Shanghai Motor Show 2017. The crossover was first revealed in 2014 and since then it has gained a lot of appreciation from the customers across the globe. Giving it a slight visual makeover and advancement in technical features, Lexus has introduced the 2017 NX.

Though there is no major difference in the exterior design of the 2017 Lexus NX but, there are slight improvements in the front and the rear. The front grille has been revised, and now features a bold and aggressive look. It is finished with satin and smoked chrome bits. To accompany the spindle grille, the bumper has been revised too and now it gets blend into the hood effectively. Due to the redesigned bumper, the position of fog lights has been also changed that now features on the corners.


Lexus NX Cabin


One of the major changes is done in the headlights of the Lexus NX which now features triple projector elements and are quite similar to the one found on Lexus LC and RC models. The rear bumper is also revised, giving NX a lower stance. The exhaust tips have been made larger and are now integrated with chrome-tipped items while the rear diffuser further adds to the sporty quotient of the crossover.

In the cabin, a large infotainment display, a new metallic satin finish greets you. Other changes include a remote interface touchpad which is enlarged for better user experience. In addition to this, wireless charging tray has been also enlarged to accommodate larger phones while fast charging feature is the new addition. Another major change is the replacement of NX 200t with the NX 300. Initially, “t” letter was used to distinguish turbocharged engines but, the company dropped since the other models were also offered with the turbocharged engines.


Despite the name change, the model still continues to feature 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and the hybrid version with 2.5-litre engine and two electric motors. The all-new NX also gets an adaptive variable suspension, which is based on the LC 500 coupe. With this new suspension, the driver will get more precise control over the vehicle by improving the handling and stability.
