Published On By Purva Jain for Dodge Charger at CarBay

MANILA: Special edition or limited edition cars, both the words may spell different but convey the same message. Both hints towards special cars that are build to make the elite class feel more special, it's like a new exclusive toy for them that they can show off in front of other already elite friends, thus fulfilling their deed of making them jealous. Now a special edition car is not only a loved possession of the owner but it is also a valuable property for the company and its designers. How? Well, for the company, a limited edition car displays its ability to concentrate its production ability on a single car (dare you it's an expensive process) and for its designer, it's like an open project that is not bounded in ropes of budget, designing mandates, production guidelines, consumer preference etc.

Now let's talk about type of special/limited edition cars -

Mainstream limited edition models - These include mass market cars that are widely popular and have a large production cap overhead. For example, try recalling Jazz special edition model that Honda launched recently.

Super Limited models - These category includes supremely expensive, exclusive, carrying a high-end brand badge cars that are specially designed to fall in this category.

When we browsed the internet in search of some iconic limited edition cars, we were flooded with a number of entries, and selecting five out of the lot was a tedious task. Anyways read on and enrich yourself with some gorgeous limited edition cars of all times.

1. 2000 Ford Mustang Cobra R -

The first one to feature in the list is the all red 2000 Ford Mustang Cobra R. The R we strongly feel stands for the red color, the only shade it is available in. Further increasing its exclusivity is the figure 300, reflecting the number of units to which its production was limited, making it extremely hard to own. Now coming to the part that distinct it from its other Mustang siblings is its 5.4L V8 358 hp generating mill that is powerful enough to race the monster at a terminal speed of 274 kilometers per hour and cover 0 to 60 in a mere time frame of 4.7 seconds. Time for some interesting fact, this car misses amenities like air con system, rear seats, and other luxuries, all to save maximum possible weight.

2. 2013 Dodge Charger SRT 392 -

Another high-end car to feature in this list is all time favorite muscle car, Dodge Charger. The one we are talking about was launched in the year 2013 and its manufacturing was restricted to only 392 units, as can be guessed from its name. Unlike Ford Mustang, this one was available in a number of color options like -Bright White, HEMI Orange, TorRed, Billet Silver and Plum Crazy. Powering it is present a 6.4L V8 engine that effortlessly generates a whopping power output of 470 hp. Interesting fact, now this car carries some features or we can say marks that distinct it from other Chargers. Like it gets a '392 HEMI' badge and '392 plaques' (speaking out loud of its uniqueness), black roof and spoiler, and 20-inch five spoke black wheels.

3. BMW Individual 760Li Sterling Robbe & Berking Edition

Individual 760Li Sterling Robbe & Berking Edition

Its very name speaks all about its insane deeds. Now, let's start off with BMW Individual 760, very well conveying that it is one distinct BMW 7-series. Next, we have Li Sterling Robbe & Berking Edition, all strongly hinting towards a big silver contribution within this sedan (Li = Silver and Robbe & Berking = renowned silversmiths of Germany) Interesting Fact, both on the exterior and interior are present with many pure silver inserts that both enhances its beauty and price tag. So what all metal we see outside from its kidney grill to exhaust outlets is nothing else but silver.
